Eric Clapton’s Patek Philippe 2499
The rock icon Eric Clapton’s Patek Philippe 2499 sold for an incredible $3.65 million at auction. In addition, Clapton sold his Platinum 1579 for $1.63 million and his JP Champion’s Observatory Chronometer for $4 million. Christie’s in Geneva, the location of Patek Philippe’s 1839 founding, hosted an auction for these timepieces.

The auction demonstrated Clapton’s process of liquidating his watches and exposed the skyrocketing price of high-end watches held by celebrities. These celebrity auctions were appropriately held in Christie’s in Geneva, the home of Patek Philippe.
